DERMAL FILLERS

Dermal fillers are a product based on hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that hydrates and plumps the skin. As the body loses hyaluronic acid over time, there is a reduction in firmness of the skin and facial contours become less defined. Fillers are injected directly into the skin to raise flatter areas and boost volume, restore shape and soften wrinkles, giving an overall revitalised appearance. These properties can be utilised to enhance existing facial features, with effects often lasting between six to eighteen months depending on treatment area

Hyaluronic acid fillers are safe and fully reversible. There may be some minor bleeding or tenderness at the injection site. Occasionally some bruising and swelling may occur around the treated area; this is usually short term and will subside within a few days. Serious side effects and allergic-type reactions are extremely rare.

Results are instantaneous.

This is entirely dependant on the treatment area, with some areas requiring multiple separate sessions. Typically, lip augmentation appointments are less than one hour – you may go back to normal activities immediately.

Local anaesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area to numb the site beforehand. Dermal fillers are injected with local anaesthetic through very small needles, this helps to reduce any pain on injection.

At consultation, we will carefully select the appropriate product and volume to meet your requirements. We do not use large volumes of filler in a single treatment, this prevents overfilling which can appear un-natural and prevent normal facial movements. We believe in gradually building volume to smoothen lines and enhance existing facial beauty.

An initial consultation is used to discuss your proposed treatment, it does not commit you to purchasing an appointment slot but ensures that we deliver a more bespoke service in line with your expectations. All consultations with Dr White are free of charge.
